Message from the Instructor
Thank you for your interest in Kumon Math and Reading programs.
Kumon is the world largest after school program with centers in 45 countries worldwide and more than 3 million students currently enrolled. We are constantly growing because of our unique learning style and materials, and our dedication to having all children reach their full potential.
Kumon is beneficial for all students, whether for enrichment or remediation purposes. The structure of our program is unique in that we can individualize it to suit the specific needs of your child.
Kumon begins with preschool concepts and continues to college entry-level math and reading skills. Our ultimate goal in the math program is to make high school math easy, covering the basics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra and calculus to name a few. The goal of the reading program is superior reading comprehension. We have a strong emphasis on spelling, grammar and sentence structure throughout the program, which helps students to develop comprehension skills.
My Kumon experience started with my son’s Kumon experience. Although both me and my husband are highly educated, when it comes to educate my own child. I wasn’t sure what’s the best for my own child. After extensive research, we choose to start him with Kumon. Before he started Kumon, he
I, myself has been a Kumon parent for about two years now. I was so amazed by my child progress, Kumon transferred him from a very shy boy to a confident, and eager learner. He started Kumon at 4-year old with very limited English words, now as a kindergartener, he is studying on 2nd grade reading materials. This experience made me to become a stronger believer of Kumon method.
As the Kumon Instructor, I have a Master’s degree in Medical Science and another Master’s degree in Computer Information System. My education in different areas has enabled me to become strong believer that self-learning is the most important life skill. While working on my Master’s degrees, I worked as teacher’s assistant and private tutor for elementary school students. I enjoyed working with both young adults and kids.
My experience as a private tutor makes me realized the importance of building good foundations. Many of them were struggling with their class work or having a hard time to learn new material because their fundamentals were not mastered. This causes a lot of frustrations and disappointments in life. I wish to use my Kumon knowledge to help children work toward academic success and eventually, a smooth transition into higher education and adult careers.
